Warriors just released a new video game called Warriors: Clans of the Forest. I bought it. Duh. And for those who have no idea who Warriors are or have not played the game before, let me explain everything! Skip to the part I explain the game if you’ve read Warriors before.
Warrior cats are a group of wild cats who live in four different clans: ThunderClan, WindClan, RiverClan and ShadowClan. They hunt and fight for their clan, and usually go out in patrols of three or four cats.
All the clans have their own territory. Each clan has land that suits them the most. ThunderClan has the forest, WindClan has the moors, RiverClan has the river, and ShadowClan has the marsh and the pine forest. In the heart of the territory, they have something called a camp, which is where all the cats sleep, eat, and rest.
Every cat has two parts to their names.
When you are a kit, you take the name as ‘kit (for example, Brightkit, Cloudkit, Bluekit). Kits are not allowed to leave the camp.
Once you are six moons old (six months), you become an apprentice. You take the name ‘paw (Brightpaw, Cloudpaw, Bluepaw). Your leader assigns you a mentor. Your mentor will teach you how to fight, hunt, and defend and help your clan. After you have trained for long enough, your mentor can give you a warrior assessment. By passing the assessment, you are ready to earn your warrior name.
There are two ways to earn your warrior name. One is to pass your warrior assessment, and another way is to fight really well in a battle or prove yourself worthy in some sort of brave way (for example, saving a clanmate from drowning in the water). Your leader will choose your warrior name. The suffix part is based on your personality (Brightheart, Cloudtail, Bluefur).
The clan also has a deputy. If you become a deputy, there is no change to your name. You remain with your warrior name.
If you were chosen to become deputy and your leader has died, you take on the name ‘star (Bluestar). You go to the sacred place to contact your warrior ancestors (StarClan) , and they will grant you nine lives to protect your clan with.
If StarClan has chosen you especially since you were a kit, then you would become a medicine cat. You learn all the uses of healing herbs and you can interpret the prophecies and signs StarClan has sent to the living world. You treat all cats equally, whether they are from rival clans or not. Your job is to protect cats from sickness, and heal the wounds made from battle. You still take on the name ‘paw if you are an apprentice, and your medicine cat (mentor) will choose your medicine cat name.
WARRIORS GAME
Clans of the Forest is a game where you have the chance to step into the life of a warrior and fulfil a prophecy. You can choose your apprentice name, and once you have proven yourself as a warrior, you have choose your warrior name. My warrior name is Quailfeather. Comment if you like it! You can hunt for your clan, and you have tasks to fulfil like marking the borders, driving away rogues, or collecting herbs for your medicine cat.
Every clan’s prophecy is different. I chose ThunderClan, so the prophecy is about fire (I don’t really remember :D). Every Clan’s territory is different. They are all very big and VERY hard to memorise.
I don’t really want to give spoilers for those who are going to buys it (I hope so!) and I think I’ve written enough for this week 😁
Bye!
