안녕하세요! 이 글을 늦게 올려서 죄송합니다.

Can you read that? Since I’m in Korea, THAT is basically what I read every single day. But to Korean people, English is just a jumble of weird squiggly lines.

But anyways, I am in Jeju Island, home of the tallest peak in South Korea, 𝐚𝐤𝐚 an inactive volcano!! Yup, an inactive volcano is around 10 km away from where I am right now. It’s called the Hallasan mountain, and it has a crater on top. It is 1950 meters tall, and it takes 9 HOURS to hike all the way around the mountain. But if I were you, I would NOT hike the mountain, because apparently some scientists think the volcano is ‘alive’ but sleeping. AAHHHHHHH.

Ok, let me tell you one thing. It’s safe. That’s definite.

There are also over 360 more mini (inactive) volcanos dotted around the island, known as the “Oreums” (parasitic cones). Sangumburi is a famous one, known for being the only flatland crater on the island.

The Geomunoreum Lava Tube System

There is also a Geomunoruem Lava Tube System inside the Manjanggul Cave (also known as the Manjanggul Lava Tube) and a parasitic cone called Seongsan Ilchulbong, which is known for its dramatic views.
